Tax and Reimbursement Updates
Tax Update Payments made for services provided by retirement homes, convalescent care, and long-term-care facilities may qualify as a medical expense deduction on an individual's federal income tax return. Reimbursement Update The recent Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) of 2005 will reduce federal spending to Medicaid programs by an estimated $4.7 billion over the next five years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
