The Obama Administration’s International Tax Proposals
The White House issued a press release on May 4, 2009, outlining tax proposals aimed at international tax reform. The press release asserted that the United States’ existing international tax rules provide a “competitive advantage to companies that invest and create jobs overseas” and allow many “opportunities to evade and avoid taxes through offshore tax havens.”
