Marilee Hopkins directs the forensic services practice for Crowe Horwath LLP. She has been retained as a consultant or expert witness in numerous cases since 1990. Ms. Hopkins recently completed a five-year contract with the United Nations Compensation Commission to value the damages to more than 2,000 Kuwaiti businesses that resulted from the 1990 illegal invasion of Kuwait by Iraq. She also serves as financial adviser to the multibillion dollar Dow Corning Qualified Settlement Fund Trust.

Ms. Hopkins has presented seminars on internal fraud detection, business valuations, damages, financial statement analysis for lawyers, and intellectual property.

Prior to joining Crowe, Ms. Hopkins was associated with a national CPA firm for 17 years, progressing from staff accountant in 1979 to management consulting department head and director of that firm’s Chicago litigation practice. Prior to 1994, she also provided audit, tax, and management consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, including construction, real estate, manufacturing, retail, service, not-for-profit, and government.

Ms. Hopkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Wichita State University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society, Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Ms. Hopkins is a certified public accountant (CPA) licensed in the states of Illinois, Indiana, and Kansas. She has the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
