Bernie Costich is a Partner in the Crowe Horwath LLP Advisory Services Group and leads the firm’s restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency services group. He also leads the firm’s forensic services group in the New York market.
Bernie has more than 30 years of experience providing restructuring and bankruptcy services to financially troubled entities and their constituents. He has served as chief executive officer, chief restructuring officer, and interim chief financial officer to financially troubled entities. Bernie has also served as a financial adviser to financially troubled entities, including debtors in possession, secured lenders, and unsecured creditors' committees.
Bernie is frequently retained as an accountant and financial advisor for Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 trustees and examiners. Additionally, Bernie has been appointed a Chapter 11 trustee and examiner by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of Connecticut and is a member of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern and Eastern District of New York Register of Mediators. He has served as a testifying expert witness in connection with preference and fraudulent conveyance litigation. Bernie has experience in industries that include manufacturing, construction, equipment leasing, consumer products, not-for-profit, real estate, telecommunications and technology.
