Daniel McConaughy is a director in the Crowe Horwath LLP advisory services group. He has a Ph.D. in corporate finance. Daniel specializes in the valuation of closely held firms and financial institutions. He is a finance professor at California State University Northridge, where he teaches corporate finance classes. He also serves at the editor for the Business Valuation Review, published by the American Society of Appraisers.

He has also served as a financial economist for two West Coast-based firms, a professor at multiple universities, and an editor for Journal of Small Business Management.
