Event Details

In performing on-going due diligence over alternative investment valuation for financial reporting purposes, an understanding of expected performance is key. This baseline understanding of expected performance and key drivers better positions accountants to understand if further information is necessary to substantiate the reasonability of alternative investment valuations. This is particularly important in situations where funds may have a reporting year-end that differs from the investor.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss 2017 alternative investment performance in significant strategy classes
  • Understand likely drivers of over or under-performance in funds
  • Explain what preparers should be watching for as they close their books and prepare for audit
