FINRA Identifies 2017 Regulatory and Examination Priorities

As the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) gears up for another year of examinations, it has issued its “2017 Regulatory and Examination Priorities Letter.” This article details how financial services firms can use the letter to prepare for examination and reduce the risk of findings of noncompliance. In addition, it explains this year’s areas of focus: high-risk and recidivist brokers, cybersecurity, AML and suspicious activity monitoring, SEC Regulation SHO, financial risk management and liquidity, credit risk, and audit trail reporting.
