Although intended and used primarily as personal communication channels, social media sites are beginning to affect companies in a significant way. There are many aspects for companies to consider when building social media risk management programs.
Many companies have inserted themselves directly into the channel, using a social media site to build brand awareness, customer loyalty, employee loyalty, and to communicate information to customers, partners, and prospects. But even if your organization has made the decision to stay out of the game formally, your employees, former employees, partners, and customers may be putting the word out about you on social networks every day.
On July 14, 2011 Crowe Horwath LLP hosted a webinar on building a social media risk management program. This recorded session examines how social media is used by an organization and its employees, defines the risks associated with social media, and explains what’s required to build a social media program.
