Policy Implications of UPMIFA: Legal and Accounting – Focus on New Law in Florida (Webinar Recording)

Not-for-profit organizations and higher education institutions have been making required financial statement disclosures for endowments since the pre-codification FSP FAS 117-1 guidance took effect years ago. However, now that Florida has become the 48th state to adopt UPMIFA, it is finally law. The new law is going to require updating a number of procedures from the old UMIFA. From investment decisions, expenditure management, as well as release or modification of restrictions, organizations will need to change their policies and practices to ensure they are complying with the new and more flexible law.

Crowe Horwath LLP hosted a webinar on Wednesday Feb. 22, 2012 intending to help provide Florida not-for-profits and higher education institutions practical implementation advice for compliance with the new law, as well as be a refresher for other states. This webinar recording will share legal and institutional accounting perspectives on the new law to help you prepare for compliance with UPMIFA.
